The only reason this isn’t a one star review is that it’s theoretically functional, though we’ll see if that lasts. TLDR: terrible instructions, poor quality, and unstable even when fully assembled.
– The powder coating on many of the metal pieces has already chipped off in places.
– There are no markers or pilot holes on the bottom wooden shelf for where screws should be inserted. I had to guess and now the legs are angled in slightly. It would be impossible to fix now that the holes have already been created in the wood and the proper placement would be too close to the current holes. I also had to use an extra washer to keep one leg in place on the wooden shelf.
– The legs do not stay straight throughout assembly and can be pulled to an angle, making the wood shelf even harder to add than it already was. It only *kind of* stabilized when I added the planter box to the legs.
– There are no clear instructions on how to assemble the planter box. I put one side on upside down because there was no indicator which way pieces needed to face.
– The bottom panels of the planter box are not secured in place and I worry about how the weight of the soil may shift them around.
– This planter does NOT have a drainage hole. I don’t own a drill but will need to find a way to create some myself drainage holes before I can begin planting.
– The wood splintered on 2/4 corners because the brackets did not line up with the planter and the screw went through the side of the wood.
I’m willing to attribute some of this to my inexperience building furniture, but at the very least, this product does not set you up for success. The only positives I come close to having are that this is made with real wood and that you can assemble it without the grid divider.
