My son outgrew his previous Ride On car and requested something more fun than a police car so we decided on this race car.
Pros:
– Easy Assembly. The instruction manual is similar to others and is not great but luckily, this was fairly straight-forward and easy to assemble. The important parts are labeled and the wire hookups are setup so that there are no questions to be asked. Don’t forget to remove the plastic cap and plug the red wire into the battery to get everything up and running. It literally took less than 15 minutes to assemble which consist of screwing on the wheels and seat and connecting the wires.
– Speed. The previous Ride On car we had was so slow that I could walk faster than the car moves. I guess that was good for young toddlers. This car was much faster and require me to jog a bit to keep up with him.
– Design. The design looks like a race car but when my son sits in it, it truly looks like a go cart. This was a pro for us but not everyone will like this.
– Remote Control. This function is great especially when he takes off and I need to put the car in park so I can catch up. It does have a limited range so keep that in mind when planning to use it. I was able to buckle my 12 month-old in and use the remote to drive her around.
Cons:
– Storage: With previous Ride On cars, we had a trunk that opened up to store the remote and charging cable. This would have been a nice option to have somewhere on the car to keep everything in place. We just end up tossing everything on the seat and removing them whenever the kids use it but having even a small storage compartment would be nice.
– Instruction Manual: The instructions could be a little better but since it’s on par with other brands and models, I would not deduct a star for it. Luckily, the assembly is straight forward with limited parts to assemble.
Overall, it was a hit with my son. Now his sister wants one so they can race each other.
