Both my boy cats share (they are bonded) the top basket and is the preferred choice to lay on.
They do not use the first layer at all, only as a stepping ladder to the top layer.

Very happy with this !! My cats were excited the moment I opened the box! (Which is heavy btw) It was very easy to put together took me about 15 min and as SOON as I finished they were IN it and ON it !
